DICE recently disclosed details about the forthcoming Battlefield 2042 Update 6.4.0, set to launch next week. This update is the final one before the highly anticipated Season 7 in Battlefield 2042.

Despite the rocky start, Battlefield 2042 has seen a turnaround, thanks to DICE's commitment. The studio has continuously rolled out updates that not only addressed fan concerns but also introduced a host of new features. While the next Battlefield installment's announcement timeline remains uncertain, the extensive content plan for Battlefield 2042 indicates a longer wait.

In a recent blog post, DICE outlined the upcoming 6.4.0 update, scheduled for release on February 28th. Apart from bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements, key features of this update include the Arkangel Directive event, Persistent Servers adjustments, and HUD upgrades.

The return of the Arkangel Directive event is generating excitement among players, with a limited-time Control game mode featuring 24v24 battles across various maps. Update 6.4.0 expands Battlefield 2042's Control LTM with two new maps, Breakaway and Discarded. Despite fan requests to make Control a permanent mode, the Arkangel Directive event will conclude on March 5.

As Season 7 approaches, DICE allows Custom Experiences in Battlefield Portal to remain active for two days during inactive seasons. While Battle Pass owners benefit from seven days of Server Persistence during active seasons, this move has drawn criticism from fans longing for Persistent Servers in All-Out Warfare.

Improvements to the Aircraft Gunner Directional HUD and Helicopter Impact Point UI HUD aim to enhance player immersion in Update 6.4.0. Players can now toggle between different viewing options for Gunner Directional HUD and choose Crosshair Indicators for their Impact Point Crosshair while piloting helicopters in Battlefield 2042.
