A new piece of evidence has emerged on LinkedIn, fueling the ongoing speculation about a potential remake of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Reports of the Assassin's Creed 4 remake first surfaced last year, suggesting that the game was still in its early stages of development and involved Ubisoft Singapore, the team behind the upcoming Skull and Bones.

Despite multiple delays, Ubisoft seems committed to the February 16 release date for Skull and Bones. Given the naval combat focus in both Skull and Bones and Assassin's Creed 4, Ubisoft Singapore appears to be a suitable choice for handling a Black Flag remake. However, the delays and less-than-impressive showings of Skull and Bones in recent years have raised concerns among fans of the beloved Assassin's Creed game. Nevertheless, the highly anticipated remake remains unconfirmed by Ubisoft, existing solely as a rumor. Nonetheless, a recent update on a LinkedIn profile adds credibility to the reports.

Isaac Tan, the Lead Cinematic Designer at Ubisoft Singapore, has included an entry for an unannounced Assassin's Creed project on his profile. This update, highlighted by Assassin's Creed News on social media, indicates Tan's involvement in the project since 2023, aligning with previous speculations about the rumored Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake. Tan has previously served as the Lead Cinematic Designer for Skull and Bones and Assassin's Creed Mirage.

According to a translated post, Tan has been working on the project since 2023, suggesting a potential link to the Black Flag remake. Although the rumors remain unverified, the pieces are starting to fall into place if the reports are indeed accurate. It makes perfect sense for Ubisoft to draw talent from Skull and Bones and Assassin's Creed Mirage. Skull and Bones shares similarities with Black Flag, while Mirage marks a return to the stealth combat focus present in the earlier Assassin's Creed games, before the shift to action RPG-oriented titles like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

Fans of the franchise have a deep affection for Black Flag, widely regarded as one of the finest Assassin's Creed games. The game introduced genre-defining combat mechanics in an open-world pirate setting.

Initially conceived as an expansion for Black Flag, Skull and Bones was expected to resolve the troubled development of the latter. However, with Ubisoft's commitment to releasing Skull and Bones in February, this does not seem to be the case.
