Highlights

  • Valkyrie's absence in the Three Strikes mode is due to a persistent bug in Apex Legends.
  • Respawn is actively supporting Season 21 by introducing the Urban Assault Collection Event.
  • The exclusion of Valkyrie might shift the gameplay dynamics in the LTM, potentially favoring Support Legends like Lifeline.

Respawn Entertainment has made a move to take Valkyrie out of the roster of playable legends in the Three Strikes Limited Time Mode (LTM) in Apex Legends due to a bug. Although this decision may disappoint Valkyrie's fans, it is aimed at enhancing the overall gaming experience in the Apex Legends LTM, where a recent bug has been causing numerous player deaths.

While Season 21 of Apex Legends is already in full swing, Respawn isn't finished with its support for the current season yet. The game developer recently launched the Urban Assault Collection Event in Apex Legends, offering new cosmetic items and reintroducing the beloved Three Strikes LTM. Despite the popularity of this mode, a recurring bug affecting Valkyrie and her squadmates has resurfaced. This bug, as reported by the community, leads to players respawning at random map locations after death if their team's Valkyrie has previously activated her Ultimate ability, Skyward Dive. Understandably, this issue has caused frustration among many players, prompting the developers to take swift action.

In a recent announcement on Twitter, Respawn disclosed the removal of Valkyrie from the Three Strikes mode in Apex Legends. The decision was directly linked to the Ultimate ability bug affecting the character. The developer has assured players that they are actively investigating the root cause of this problem while Valkyrie remains sidelined in the LTM. It's important to note that Valkyrie is still playable in other modes like Mixtape and Ranked.

Apex Legends Disables Valkyrie in Three Strikes

Unfortunately, Respawn has not provided a specific timeline for Valkyrie's return to the Three Strikes mode. Nevertheless, this alteration in the character roster could potentially alter the meta within the LTM. According to the Apex Legends Status database, Valkyrie is the most selected Legend in the game, with a pick rate of 9.9%. With her temporary removal, Support Legends such as Lifeline and Newcastle might witness a surge in popularity due to the fast revive mechanics they offer in this game mode.

Moreover, Valkyrie's absence becomes more pronounced considering that Apex Legends recently introduced the Rumble beta alongside the Urban Assault Collection Event. This new addition, described as an 'all-new asynchronous tournament system,' incorporates the Three Strikes game mode. Consequently, players interested in exploring the beta will have one less legend to choose from when forming their optimal team composition in Apex Legends.

Hopefully, Respawn will identify a resolution to the Valkyrie bug soon so that players can once again access the full range of playable characters in the LTM. With the two-week Urban Assault Collection Event commencing on April 23, the Three Strikes mode in Apex Legends will remain available until May 6.
