Following player uproar due to recent bugs, Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a highly anticipated update for Apex Legends. The focus of this update is to address the disappearance of Breakout Legend Challenge progress among numerous players. The latest patch aims to tackle issues that arose following recent game updates, resulting in lost progress and account resets for many Apex Legends enthusiasts.

Introduced in Season 20, the Breakout Legend Challenges offer players the opportunity to unlock legends permanently by completing specific tasks with each character. Unfortunately, the April Fools' update not only brought Mozambique-themed chaos but also introduced a slew of bugs and glitches. Gamers reported setbacks such as lost challenge progress for previously unlocked legends, malfunctioning badges, and vanishing cosmetics. Some unlucky players even found their entire Apex Legends accounts reset upon logging in. Although Respawn promptly shut down servers to address the situation, their transparency throughout the crisis was commended by the Apex Legends community. Nonetheless, some users continued to face issues over a week later.

Following closely on the heels of a prior patch that resolved missing ranked progress for players, this latest update is set to restore lost challenge progress for those affected. Seer, Fuse, and Rampart challenges are now accessible to all players who had previously completed their respective Breakout Challenges. Notably, Mad Maggie, the fourth unlockable Breakout character, was not mentioned in Respawn's patch notes and is presumed to be unaffected by the recent bugs. Players of Apex Legends can finally breathe easy knowing their hard-earned rewards have been reinstated.

In addition to the bug fixes, players of Apex Legends were pleasantly surprised with another bonus this week. As a token of gratitude for the community's patience during the data recovery process, Respawn has gifted all players eight free Apex Packs, offering them a chance to acquire extra cosmetics and Heirloom Shards. Players who log in by April 24 at 10 AM PT will automatically receive their complimentary packs.

Alongside the highly-anticipated bug fixes, Respawn has also implemented some much-needed quality-of-life improvements in the recent update. Caustic will no longer be hindered by an enemy Caustic's gas traps. Invisible walls on the Broken Moon map have been eliminated for Nintendo Switch users, and the final circle will no longer spawn over lava on World's Edge. Furthermore, Loba, the translocating thief, has been introduced as the latest playable Breakout Challenge character. The winged avenger Valkyrie is slated to be the final legend unlockable before Season 21 kicks off on May 6, rumored to bring a new map and character to Apex Legends.
