Apex Legends enthusiasts have a fresh incentive to engage with the game, as Respawn Entertainment surprises them with complimentary Apex Packs for a limited period. This move by the developer follows the account reset issues and battle pass progress losses experienced by players in Apex Legends.
The account-related challenges began around the time of the April Fools’ update for Apex Legends. Unfortunately, these issues surpassed the novelty of the new Limited Time Mode introduced in the update. Gamers encountered a substantial data outage, resulting in many losing account progress and cosmetics. While most account-related problems have been resolved, the situation has led to frustration within the Apex Legends community.
Fortunately, players are being rewarded for their patience. Respawn recently announced the distribution of complimentary Apex Packs as a gesture of appreciation for the community's endurance during the data outage and subsequent recovery phase. By simply logging into their accounts before 10 AM PT on April 24, players will receive eight complimentary Apex Packs. These packs, while containing standard chances for cosmetics of varying rarities, offer fans additional opportunities to obtain Heirloom Shards in Apex Legends for use on Mythic items like Heirlooms and Prestige Skins. Notably, once received, players can open these packs at their convenience.
Players of Apex Legends Receive 8 Free Apex Packs
Following Respawn's announcement, many players expressed gratitude on social media. However, concerns persist regarding the game's status, as Season 20 has faced several challenges since its February launch. While this season has introduced several positive changes, such as a Legend Upgrade system and alterations to Apex Legends' EVO shields, the presence of cheaters and hackers remains problematic.
In addition to the usual cheaters in Ranked and other modes, an incident involving a hacker disrupted an official Apex Legends tournament a few weeks ago. During the ALGS regional finals in North America, professional players Phillip “Imperialhal” Dosen and Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose were targeted, with one encountering aimbot usage and the other facing wall hacks. Consequently, the tournament was delayed, prompting Respawn to reassure the community that the issue was being addressed.
The upcoming events in Season 20 of Apex Legends remain uncertain. Hopefully, there will be no further significant hacking incidents or data outages, allowing players to continue enjoying the game as intended.
