Reports have surfaced of Amazon canceling pre-orders for highly anticipated Nintendo Switch game remakes, including Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Customers are now racing to secure their copies from other retailers before the games' release later this year.

The remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is scheduled to launch on May 23, allowing fans to immerse themselves in Mario's quest to rescue Princess Peach from the X-Nauts. Despite being available for pre-order on Amazon and other platforms for nearly a month, some Amazon customers recently received disappointing news.

Several customers who pre-ordered the Nintendo remakes or Endless Ocean Luminous were informed by Amazon that their orders had been canceled due to inventory challenges. While such issues with Nintendo products on Amazon are not uncommon, they remain frustrating. As of now, physical copies of the games can still be pre-ordered from Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.

Amazon's Actions Spark Outrage

Impacted customers revealed that they swiftly placed their Amazon pre-orders upon release, raising questions about the retailer's inventory management. Currently, the three games are simply listed as unavailable on Amazon, with no indication of when they might become available again. Fortunately, customers still have time to secure their pre-orders, with Luigi's Mansion 2 HD not hitting the shelves until June 27.

Endless Ocean Luminous is the earliest release among the titles, set for May 2. This well-received franchise, dormant since the 2009 release of Endless Ocean 2 on the Wii, promises enhanced graphics, a dynamic ocean to explore, and expanded multiplayer features.

Although Nintendo's 2024 game lineup appears less robust due to the rumored delay of the Switch 2 until 2025, fans can still anticipate titles like Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, Braid: Anniversary Edition, and the aforementioned games later this year.
