Alan Wake 2 has received an update to address issues with inventory upgrades and its recently added New Game Plus mode, known as the Final Draft mode. The game's Final Draft mode had some issues that were affecting the gameplay experiences of its players.

The critical and commercial success of Alan Wake 2 has made it a beloved title among gamers. The game received acclaim and recognition, achieving accolades such as Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards. Additionally, its high user rating on Metacritic at 8.8 speaks to its broad popularity.

The addition of the Final Draft mode to Alan Wake 2 was eagerly anticipated by fans. However, the introduction of this mode on December 11th came with a set of issues that hindered the gameplay experience. The latest update aims to resolve these issues and enhance the overall gaming experience.

The update, released on December 19, specifically targets issues that arose following a previous update in December. One of the fixes addresses the inability of players to pick up inventory-capacity upgrades while playing as Saga at Cauldron Lake's shore and Bright Fall's fishing pier. The update also addresses issues within the Final Draft mode, such as preventing duplicate charms and enabling the pickup of Bright Falls manuscript pages. Notably, the update provides players with the ability to track unlocks from all previous playthroughs in the Final Draft mode, not just from the first playthrough. However, there is a specific process to follow for these unlocks to take effect.

For these unlocks to be applicable, players need to load an old checkpoint from a non-Final Draft file, then start a fresh Final Draft file. The New Game Plus update earlier in December had been well-received by dedicated fans, as it not only offered a new way to experience the game's narrative but also introduced new story content that added depth to the storyline.

Excitingly, the developers have confirmed plans for DLC, including free and paid expansions named Night Springs and Lake House. The Night Springs DLC is expected to delve into the show referenced in the first Alan Wake game, drawing inspiration from the Twilight Zone TV series and likely featuring intriguing concepts.
