AEW Fight Forever is set to introduce Swerve Strickland as a new DLC character. The game, a nostalgic nod to classic arcade-style wrestling games like WWF No Mercy, has evoked mixed reactions from wrestling fans since its launch in June. The primary criticisms revolve around the game’s presentation and the initial lack of gameplay modes.

Continuing to build on AEW Fight Forever through DLC and updates, Yuke’s and publisher THQ Nordic have made strides, such as the addition of the multiplayer Superstar Stampede match in August. This was followed by the introduction of “Beat the Elite,” a challenging gauntlet mode where players confront 10 opponents before facing a member of The Elite faction. Expanding its roster, AEW Fight Forever has incorporated playable wrestlers like Anthony Bowens, Max Caster of The Acclaimed, and the reigning AEW Women's World Champion, Toni Storm.

Joining the roster on February 14 as part of the game’s Season 3 DLC is former AEW Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland. The announcement was made on the official AEW Games Twitter and by Evil Uno on All Elite Arcade. A brief clip shared on Twitter showcases Strickland entering a new beach arena, which will also be included in the upcoming Swerve to the Beach DLC. Details about other wrestlers included in AEW Fight Forever’s next batch of DLC and the pricing are yet to be disclosed.
